Meet Dr Allen Wan (Dentist)
With an older brother and sister already working as dentists, Allen grew up around the profession, so it’s no surprise he ended up following in their footsteps. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Science with first-class honours from the University of Queensland in 2009, then went straight into practice alongside his brother, Dr Vincent Wan (Dentist), at First Dental Studio and its branch practice, Central Brisbane Dental. Working alongside family has its perks, and the brothers have spent many years sharing ideas and working side by side.
Dentistry moves fast, and Dr Allen makes a point of keeping up with it. He regularly attends continuing education courses covering aligner orthodontics, dental implants, infection control, endodontics, and cosmetic dentistry, and he’s a member of the Australian Dental Association. His continuing education reflects the broad range of dentistry he enjoys, from routine checkups to more involved treatment.
A Broad Range of Dental Services
Allen’s drawn to the challenge of dentistry. No two patients or cases are quite the same, and he genuinely enjoys working out what may suit each patient’s needs. He offers a broad range of dental services, with a particular interest in preventative dentistry, root canal care, and crown and bridge work. What he finds most rewarding is working with patients with different concerns, whether they’re dealing with dental pain or simply want to feel more comfortable with their smile. He aims to keep appointments comfortable and straightforward along the way.
Away from the surgery, Allen keeps himself busy; a bit of shopping here, some travel there, and plenty of good food along the way, whether he’s eating out or cooking at home. He also doesn’t mind winding down with a show on TV once in a while. Fluent in both English and Cantonese, he’s always happy to chat with patients in whichever language feels more comfortable.
