Meet Dr Vincent Wan (Dentist)
It was during high school that Dr Vincent (Dentist) first started thinking about dentistry. His older sister was studying at the University of Queensland at the time, and she’d bring home teeth models and dental tools that he liked poking around with. Curious, he tagged along with her one day, looked around the campus, and decided that was where he wanted to study too. His sister now works as a paediatric dentist on the Gold Coast, where she also lectures and researches. His younger brother, Dr Allen (Dentist), followed a similar path and now works alongside him at First Dental Studio.
Education
Dr Vincent finished his Bachelor of Dental Science with first-class honours at UQ in 2003, the same year he took over First Dental Studio from its previous owner. While at uni, he started the Infusion Dental Study Club, a group that’s still going strong today. It’s now affiliated with the Australian Dental Association and meets once a month so members can swap cases and hear from guest speakers; he’s held both the president and treasurer roles there over the years.
He also regularly undertakes continuing education across different areas of dentistry. His thoughtful approach and calm, welcoming manner reflect the care he brings to each appointment.
